5.25.2008 - New stacks and portraits, more script coming soon ! Stacks | Portraits

5.18.2008 - New stacks and portraits.

5.16.2008 - Friday night at Foxfire! We are having an upswing in the weather and the kids are enjoying it. Anna Mae, the puppies' granddam has been a grump the last few weeks. She had a few questionable teeth pulled (4!) and is feeling much better. Anna M is great for the puppies to socialize with. She won't let them nurse and always corrects them enough to get the point across! Puppies love g-ma.

5.12.2008 - The last ten days have really zipped by. With the arrival of Heidi's puppies we are working like a well-oiled machine keeping everyone played with, cleaned up after and exercised. The puppies are now eating pretty efficiently out of bowls and going outside after they eat. Thankfully the weather has been better! We took the first set of stack photos as they turn 6 weeks tomorrow. Happy belated 6th birthday to Hazel and her littermates (5/10/02). Click here to see the new photos.

5.4.2008 - Outdoor action ! Click here...

4.25.2008 - This week we said good-bye to Tommy who was the grandsire to these puppies. Tom-Tom was on the top-10 for part of 2000, making it as high as #5, he finished in the top 20. We were hoping for a little more time with him, as we always say when we lose a dog. We are blessed though, with all of these little grand-girls (& boy) to ease the loss.

The puppies are walking, barking, eating gruel and generally acting like real doggies. We started adding in ground-up Canidae into their food. They approve of the taste and their intestines also approve! Hazel’s services are no longer regularly needed but she does visit and sleep with the puppies, they’re not really interested in mobbing her for lunch. We will soon be moving them out into the living room to open up the den for Heidi’s upcoming brood.

4.22.2008 - Two new videos, some photos coming soon. Click here.

4.16.2008 - The babies are getting extra meals twice a day. We went to take still shots and LaRita accidently took this short but cute video. The color isn't very good, but you can see the enthusiasum ! Click here to view it ! (Opens a new browser window).

4.15.2008 - Two weeks old today ! See new video (left) and new photos under week 2.

4.8.2008 -It is difficult to believe these babies are already one week old. They are all growing and developing properly, and learning to bark at Hazel when she is within sniffing distance. We’ve already nicknamed the bunch, mostly by their collar colors. Blackberry (purple), Raspberry (red), Lemon (yellow), Lime (green), Seafoam (aqua), Coconut (lt.Blue), Tangerine (orange) and Fuchsia (hot pink). The boy is still called “the boy”. As the biggest one in the litter, he is hard to miss. Lemon and Lime are always seen together as a pair. Coconut is the largest girl while Tangerine and Seafoam are the smallest. I realize the shameless sentimentality that goes into naming all of the puppies, but we’re really enjoying them.

4.6.2008 - New video, see at left ! This is hosted on YouTube so all the other videos in embedded belong to other people.

4.5.2008 - Lots of new photos in Newborns, a video coming soon...

4.3.2008 - A new picture of the group, more photos coming soon. Click here.

3.23.2008 - Hazel has about ten more days to go before she whelps. She is becoming more uncomfortable with each day. We have been able to feel little kicks inside when she lays on her side or back are relaxes. See new photos in gestation.

3.16.2008 - We have affectionately started calling Hazel the "party bus". Her belly is more prominant every day. She has been the jolly pregnant dog around the house but still will not let me do her toenails without a little trouble. For photos please click on "gestation".

3.3.2008 - Hazel had her ultrasound appointment today @ 5 p.m. We were able to roughly count seven different puppies. There is a possibility you can miss puppies behind the ribs, or count one twice. Hazel is much larger than she was last year with the six puppies at the same juncture in her pregnancy. We have a little less than one month before the babies arrive, around April 1st or 2nd. We should have a few gestation photos up shortly.

2.28.2008 - Hazel has her appointment for an ultrasound on Monday, March 3. We are feeling positive that her pregnancy is under way. She has had some morning sickness and an occasional hunger strike. It doesn't last... Hazel had a bath last night and she loves to be rubbed with warm water. She feels fuller in the belly region, hoping it's not my imagination !

2.22.2008 - Between training and getting ready for the Denver dog show, it is hard to believe it has been twenty days since Hazel's implant. She seems to be quietly chunking up and has a little ponch in the belly region. It is always at this stage where we ask, "is she, or isn't she ? ". We have a few more days before we find out.

2.2.2008 - Happy Groundhog's Day ! I am not in the belief that any furry critter can predict the weather, especially in Colorado. It was cold today, but not so cold we were kept indoors. Hazel had her artificial insemination around 1 p.m. today. It went as well as could be expected. There were no shipping dramas (yay!). We can reasonably expect to know if she is pregnant by March 2. Babies will help in the April 2 time frame. Hazel is back home with us now and very happy to be in her own bed.

1.26.2008 - Hazel made her way up to Dr.Burns' clinic in Fort Collins in preparation for her A.I. with Capt'n Jack.
